7/23/08 19:30 AST I understand that the team were successful in transmitting last night, however had some equipment break down today. They went from a strong signal down to 100 watts. Capt. Kristjan states that they have now put up a new antenna.

They experienced light winds last evening, which made for a bit of a lack of sleep, but they remain determined. I am in contact with the Observatory throughout the day, by phone and email. The volcano is still active, but I am told that, in there present position, it appears that they are in no danger and all is going well.

If you managed to contact KL7DX or perhpas recorded the team operating, would be great if you could send an audio recording - this can then be embedded on site, with credit given. Thanks! *It should be noted KL7DX was active today (July 23) on 14260Mhz approx 08z, working EU.
