Sad news.
Ivan Lesiv, a Ukranian radio ham living and working on Svalbard, has been killed in a fire in the Barentsburg coal mine region. The tragedy happened on April 17.
Ivan was 47 years old.
An active and good operator. RIP

John, 9M6XRO, and Steve, 9M6DXX, will lead a team of six operators toPulau Layang Layang, Spratly Islands (IOTA AS-051), between 1 and 14March 2009. Activity will be on all bands 10 to 80m CW, SSB and RTTYusing three stations, two with full legal limit linear amplifiers.Callsign to be confirmed and QSL information via M3SDE (direct or bureau).

We will not have ‘live’ internet access, as there are no phones, no TV’s and no wireless network at the section of the resort we will be staying… but will go to the resort internet kiosk once or twice a day to check emails and upload log.
