Sticky situation.
With Kosovo now claiming independence, will this open the floodgates to other separatists regions issuing independence demands? Below is a quote from the BBC website (LINK)
While the major European powers are widely expected to recognise Kosovo’s independence from Serbia, several other countries have strong reservations.
Cyprus, Romania, Spain and Greece have expressed their concerns about the signal that recognition might send to separatists.
While Cyprus fears possible repercussions from Turkish-controlled northern Cyprus, Romania is worried by the response from pro-Russian separatists in Moldova.
Russia’s foreign ministry has also indicated that Western recognition of an independent Kosovo could have implications for the Georgian breakaway provinces of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

Ones wonders if any other than Governmental-Types who have failed to find a uniformly encompassing way to solidify their administrations for ALL of their peoples have anything to fear?
The gradual process of De-evolution of the European States has been underway at an accelerated pace for over a half century, but it is the the the overlaying of the mantle of the EU as an equalizer of citizens rights & benefits, and as an equalizer of relative state power among its entities, that has allowed de-evolution to become a reality.
