HQ8R – Swan Islands 2008 DXpedition

HQ8R Swan Islands 2008 DXpedition is the brainchild of HR2J Javier, he came up with the original idea of activating the islands and has received the support of Radio Club de Honduras and its members in this adventure. The Swan Islands are a chain of three islands located in the Caribbean Sea, approximately 144 nautical miles northeast of port of Castilla off the coastline of Honduras, with a land area of 8 km? the archipelago consists of three islands:
We are planning to depart from port of Castilla Naval station in Trujillo bay on March 15th and return on March 23rd on a 105 foot Honduran Navy vessel.

HK?? San Andres Island DXpedition. March 1 – 6

A group of six members of the Texas DX Society plan to operate from San Andres Island, Colombia
from March 1-6, 2008.
This will include participation in the ARRL International DX Contest (Phone) on March 1-2.
The group will use two separate stations with beam and vertical antennas.
After the contest, operators will use individual callsigns on SSB, CW and digital modes on major HF bands.
Callsign assignments are pending. Operators will be: WF5W, W5PF, K5WAF, NM5G, W5PR and N4AL.

VK9DWX – Willis Island – October 2008

Team consists of DJ7EO DJ9RR DL1MGB DL3DXX DL5LYM DL6FBL DL8OH DL8WPX.
After a very successful DXpedition to Norfolk Island in February 2007 with over 60.000 QSOs logged under VK9DNX the activation of Willis Island is planned for October 2008. The same experienced team from VK9DNX (DJ7EO, DJ9RR, DL1MGB, DL3DXX, DL5LYM, DL6FBL, DL8OH und DL8WPX) will be QRV with four high power stations for about 17 days from 160m to 10m in CW, SSB and RTTY.
The landing permission is granted, the license is expected to be issued the next days and a suitable charter vessel is secured.
