*new info here
The following info is from ZS6HA via the SARL website:
On Thursday the 13th of December I was called on 20M by Ludwich ZS6WLC/MM on board of the SA AUGULAS. He mentioned that he was on his way to Antartica and would return to South Africa in Feb 2008.
Ludwich said that he had an AM set (Collins?) with him and wanted to work 80 M Dx with it as he believed that this had not yet been done from Antartica.
So look out for ZS7ANT or ZS6WLC/ZS7 on 3.795Mhz AM73

Kim and Kirsten are very adventuresome long distance sailors who on their last trip out of Denmark were away for seven years! This time they have been away only two years – so far. Kim, who is a civil engineer, also has been a ham for 20 years. He provided very colorful and humorous stories about their sailing adventures and, more particularly, about the vital role their maritime mobile station has played in keeping them safe and entertained.
3Y/ZS6GCM – Bouvet Island (AN002) *Updated Info*
Dec 16th

Newly licensed operator Petrus, ZS6GCM is currently on Bouvet Island, probably for the next three months. He is part of a five man scientific team and also the medic.
Having only recently arrived on Bouvet, it’s unsure whether radio equipment is currently set up. Petrus does have a vertical antenna for 10, 15, 20 and 40m, but no amplifier. IC-735 is the rig. He has full HF privileges.
Being newly licensed ZS6GCM has no experience of pile-ups.
Activity will be during spare time only, most probably his evenings.
The trip to Bouvet had been planned for several months, but ZS6GCM was not added to the last minute.
Petrus had recently returned from a year long stay on Gough Island. On returning he heard about the Bouvet trip and duly applied – he was made medic.
Petrus had only recently gained his full license – he was ZR6PK
The team travelled to Bouvet onboard the SA Agulhas:
One further snippet of news to add is that Petrus, ZS6GCM has also been appointed medic/team leader for the 2008 Marion Island Dxpedition!
