Dx Cluster reports mention SP9MRO/MM and team enroute to Agalega have encountered a problem with the catamaran they are sailing in. SP9MRO/MM had been working on 15 and 17m.
Unfortunetly, as i type this, ZS1Y has confirmed via the cluster that the catamaran has lost an engine and sail and is now heading back to St.Brandon (3B7). All onboard appear to be ok. The DXpedition may now be cancelled.

The important thing is that all involved are OK …….

Glad all are ok, maybe they can opperate from St Brandon, (Counts for same DXCC entity) Then not a total washout.

Hi Roger.
Not been any news since yesterday. I think what has happened is the team have gone back to 3B7 to either use a different boat or mend the exisiting one. But, with an engine and sail lost, it’s maybe easier to track another catamaran down(?)
Also, the team may feel it not wise to transmit from St Brandon because of the vy large 3B7C Dxpedition scheduled there for later this year – might not want to step on their toes etc.
My hunch is that we may well hear or see spots on the cluster with SP9MRO/MM very soon. If so, I presume the destination would be Agalega. Many of the cluster reports seemed certain for a delayed start of 8 or 9 June.
Must be a bit soul destroying for the team going through all the organisation only for the vital piece of equipment, ie the boat, to end up the way it did..
Here’s hoping all’s well…
