VP6DX – Ducie Island, Feb 2008

It looks like a DXpedition to Ducie Island is planned for Feb 2008. As many as 13 ops will be going with DL6LAU, K3NA, DL3DXX, DL8LAS, OH2BH, WA6CDR and K1LZ already confirmed. They plan to stay 13 days.
They plan to set up 7 stations on Ducie Island. 5 of them will have a KW amplifier, 2 of them will be used at 100W.
The VP6DX website is still in it’s early stage, but is sure to be a favourite with many a Ham once it’s up and running properly.
J5UAP / 6W2SC – Guinea Bissau / Senegal

Peter, HA3AUI actually stays in Senegal (6W) but near to the border of J5. He makes regular trips to the fabulous J5 beaches and operates from there.

Friedrichshafen – Radio Exams

This year at Friedrichshafen, non-amateurs or amateurs will be able to take a radio exam for either the ARRL Technician, Advanced or Extra type license.
All info in gaining an ARRL license can be found at K7DX/DJ0QN website.

This is the only building located outside, across from the main entrance.

Bring along the following:
passport, or ID card is also acceptable if non-U.S. citizen
$14 US (test fee) or about 12 euro – only in cash!
required is a U.S. mailing address for the FCC to send the license to.
This can also be an OM, friend or relative that receives it via “c/o” in the address, or
you can rent a P.O. Box. Please ask around, I am unable to help you!if already licensed, your original FCC Amateur Radio License AND a copy thereof.
Also an original and copy of a CSCE if relevant to the test.Your U.S. Social Security number or TIN if you have received one previously
You will be issued a number from the FCC if you do not already have one.Pencil, eraser, pen and calculator (not programmable!)

3B6DX – Agalega (AF-001)

Updated 22 May..callsign is now 3B6SP, not 3B6DX.. see here
3B6DX is now the confirmed callsign (nice call) to be used by the Polish DX Team when operating from Agalega Islands.
